Reiki feels different for different people, and sometimes different for the same person from one session to the next.
The session starts before the table
Shana asks what brought you in, what you hope to receive, and what helps you feel comfortable. Reiki can be offered with light contact or hands held above the body. You remain fully clothed.
Common sensations
Some clients notice warmth, coolness, tingling, pulsing, heaviness, lightness, imagery, emotion, or calm. Others fall asleep. Some experience nothing dramatic at all. That does not mean they failed.
Relaxation is meaningful
A quiet hour in which you are not required to solve, explain, perform, or produce can itself be significant. You may notice the effect during the session, later that evening, or simply as more space around what you carried.
What happens afterward?
Shana gives you time to return and talk. She may share intuitive impressions, but you remain the authority on your own experience.
Remote Reiki
For a remote session, you settle somewhere comfortable while Shana conducts the work from a distance. The opening and closing conversations remain important, and many clients appreciate not driving afterward.
